1. Service Description

Vellum ("vellum.works") provides AI-powered essay analysis for college transfer applications. Our service uses artificial intelligence to evaluate your essays and provide structured feedback. By using Vellum, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Credits System

Vellum operates on a credit-based system. Credits are purchased in packs ($5 for 5 credits, $12 for 15 credits, $20 for 30 credits). Each essay analysis consumes 1 credit. Credits are non-refundable once purchased and do not expire. For full details, see our Refund & Credit Policy.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that all essays submitted for analysis are your own original work. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and using the service. You may not use Vellum to generate essays or submit AI-generated content to educational institutions.

4. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all essays and content you submit to Vellum. We do not claim any rights over your essays. Vellum retains ownership of its analysis methodology, prompts, scoring systems, and all other proprietary technology.

5. AI Disclaimer

Vellum's analysis is generated by artificial intelligence and is advisory in nature. We do not guarantee any specific admission outcomes. Analysis results should be used as one input among many in your application process. The quality and relevance of feedback may vary.

6. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse, or use the service in ways that compromise system integrity. Unused credits are forfeited upon account termination.

7. Limitation of Liability

Vellum is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vellum shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for credits in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
